Three Days of Awesome Bowls, Friendships and Food

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 1-3 of December was our Bowling Club"s Three Day Classic. It was an amazing success, with bowlers from as far away as Auckland, Orewa, Hamilton and Waihi Beach. We had four wonderful Sponsors, First Mortgage Trust, New World Supermarket, Whangamata Club and Challenge Service Station. Please support these sponsors because without them we could not put on such a good tournament.

Monday format is Fours, Singles, Triples and Fours, Tuesday and Wednesday are Fours, Pairs, Pairs and Fours. There were some excellent bowls, some not so good and even a few wrong bias.

Monday night we fed 120-130 people, with two large hams beautifully cooked at our local supermarket, New World, potatoes and peas supplied by the club and a huge selection of beautiful salads provided by our members. Tuesday was afternoon tea prepared by a team of women who make the most amazing sandwiches and Wednesday was sausage sizzle day.

First Division Winners.

We recently completed the refurbishment of our bar and so we had many comments on how light and clean it was. This has been a huge project managed by a team of Alan Cotter, Jim Newman and our new Bar Manager Gavin Smith.

There were 3 Divisions and winners of the First Division were from Riverhead. Here is a photo with representatives from two of our Sponsors. Hope to see you all here next year.
